I have to confess that I never liked celery, and few times in my life I had tried; but Turkish day, a friend invited me to lunch and I prepared this dish. At first did not attract me at all, but the truth is that I was pleasantly surprised when tested. I quickly asked for the recipe and started cooking at home, I think today is one of our favorite meals.
Celery is a very beneficial food, and recommended by many nutritionists and highly valued in Oriental Medicine. Here we quote some of its properties:
-Natural laxative to prevent constipation.
-Powerful anti-inflammatory: Beneficial enartritis, drop, osteoartritis, asthma, bronchitis.
-Decrease High Blood Pressure.
-A bunch of celery
-1 large onion.
-1 teaspoon sugar.
-juice 2 lime.
-A tea cup olive oil.
Lavamos, cut and boil the celery. In Turkey using only the leaves, but we also cook the stems. Approx 20 min. Remove and drain them.
Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut into slices.
Peel and chop the onion and fry gently until golden brown take.
In a saucepan, preferably low, wide ribbed put, potatoes and carrots. Add the juice of the 2 lemons and put to cook on medium heat.
Add onion to the pan and golden brown, salt to taste and a teaspoon of sugar. The original recipe adds a cup of tea olive oil, although for me 1/2 is enough. Add a glass of water and let simmer for about 30-35 min. We will check the potatoes are tender and if not we 5 other Min.
